| I haven't posted in awhile - yes it's been busy but it always is so what's my problem? Somehow, my "life" has gotten off track and my organization is all whacked out and so despite deadlines and projects to due I seem unable to find the ambition, energy and/or gumption to tackle any of this. Anyone know where I can find any of that stuff? Other wise, life is sailing right along...we attended the Divisional Farewell yesterday for our two sets of departing officers - it really was quite nice. Today was our DHQ employee farewell which was as emotionally draining as it was long - a nice long, don't think I'm complaining there. As tired as I am from the emotion, those four officer's must be space cadets and they have another dinner tonight! We're on kid watch right now - George had to go to Florida on family business and Jayne left for Brengle yesterday. So we took Will to Conservatory and Emma to Sunbeam camp. This morning I left both Allan and Graeme snoozing away. George is coming home tomorrow... Graeme will be pleased. So that's about it for now, another boring chapter in Greenlee-land. Who knew I would ever appreciate boring?! Blessings ya'll! | | |
| One day post moves and we still haven't seen them all - it bothered me some yesterday while at work but not so much today. Those that I have heard, I'm actually rather pleased with in A/OK. Some of the others seem odd but I don't have to deal with them. I'm especially looking forward to our new officers in Ada - they're NASCAR fans so it'll be fun to chat. I haven't felt that great today - I know it's allergies but it's just aggravating. Makes me impatient, cranky, lazy and emotionally droopy - just one of those is unpleasant but all together should be illegal. My ears ache, my head hurts, my throat is sore, my eyes itch, my head has shooting pains and I sneeze - I don't want to be around me I feel for anyone who has to be. Nothing else much going on - which is just as well. Blessings ya'll! | | |
| I'm sitting at work with more than plenty to do but thought I'd post a few lines just because it's been so long since I have. I thought I was determined to post more often - but there's not much to write about boredom and how many ways can I say work is busy? Allan has returned from his sojourn to Missouri including Youth Councils, a week with the officer's in Mountain Home and Men's Camp. He came home tired. And this week, he's supervising the Hallmark sorting because Major John Birks is in Little Rock and I'm elbow deep in women's retreat. I did have something of an adventure last Friday. I decided that the yard needed to be mowed before Allan got home but our mower hasn't been serviced yet this year and I can't start it anyway. So I rented a "brush wacker" from Home Depot. I was picking up some things along the side of the house and beneath some shingled was a snake - I don't know what kind, I don't really care - they are all scarry to me. I just wanted him to go away but he kept going the wrong way. He tried to go in the garage beneath the side door but me and the garden rake convinced him otherwise - I think I rather peeved him about it too. He did finally go beneath an old grill on the side of the house and I decided to go about my brush wacking. I had been told by those incredibly smart Home Depot guys (of which it took 3 of them to figure out how to start the thing) that it did NOT have a self-propelled engine. As I look at it though when I started it, it showed three gears plus neutral and reverse. In actuality, it had neutral and 3rd. Now, I am short, fat and slow. This machine, in 3rd gear is long and fast. If anyone had had a video camera they probably could have made some money from America's Funniest Home Videos. No fooling ya'll, I would stop to rest and look around to make sure no one was obviously watching. It was even funny to me. I got about 2/3 of the yard "whacked" though so I guess it was worth it. One more day to the big announcement day - last year we were called into an impromptu staff meeting for the DHQ moves - I wonder what we'll get tomorrow? Well, this has been nice, maybe I should do it more often. Blessings ya'll! | | |
| Well, it's only been a week since posting so I guess that's not too bad. One does need to have something to share to keep readers coming back. So this may be short - I'm pretty sure I don't have much to say. YP Councils is this coming weekend and the staff departs for camp tomorrow - thank goodness! I really did get quite a bit done last week when everyone was out of the office but me so I'm hoping for that again in the next two days. I'm taking Friday off to keep the "part -time" kids. Allan will be going to youth councils and then on to his Dad's house for a few weeks. He's already packed for the most part so he must be ready for the trip - me too! Anyway, it'll be just me and the three kids - no telling what we'll do.... Allan is currently asleep in the recliner in the living room - he of course overdid it today - he's trying to get as much done around the house before he leaves Friday as possible. I appreciate that in some ways... but then I feel compelled to try to work on those projects while he's gone which can sometimes not turn out exactly like he wants.... but if I don't work on those projects, he's upset at that. It is NOT a win-win position, trust me. The rumor mill is gearing up. With the DC moves already announced there's some wild stuff going around. It'll be a long month. Time to get off of here - told you I didn't have much to say. Blessings ya'll! | | |
| I really need to be more dedicated to chatting here more often. I get really bummed when those I like to keep up with don't update - but I've gotten terribly lax as well. One would think that as busy as life has been lately there would be more to talk about, but how many puppy stories and bad neighbor tales can you read about? I obviously bragged about better health too soon in my last post. I've been fine but Allan spent three days in the hospital week before last with pneumonia. He's doing better now but still tires quickly. He's doing better right now about keeping his sugar checked too - hope he keeps that up. I do have a prayer request - my neice Kathy is terminally ill according to her doctors. It began with her liver being attacked and no cause has ever been discovered. She has never been a drinker or drug user but it has progressed now that psorossis has set in, diabetes has skyroceted and the accompanying neuropathy has numbed most of her right leg and foot. Since the cause of the liver malfunction has never been pinpointed, a transplat - whole or partial - has never been an option. She's only 33 and has an 11 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. The doctors have told her a year to a year and a half. She's basically at peace with it, her only concern is that her children remain close and her husband and ex-husband have agreed to that. I am not so accepting and seem to find myself becoming angrier every day. So Kathy needs a miracle, and I need peace or acceptance or something so that I can be a help to her. If ever I am counting on my fellow Faithful Intercessors it's now. The office is quiet for a couple of days thanks to advisory board/auxiliary retreat - thank goodness. I could use more than a couple days to catch up on stuff. I don't know if knowing the DC moves this early is that great an idea or not because that is adding to everything else already on the calendar. But it's a far sight better than being bored... but the occasional lite day would not be unwelcome. Maybe in July.... And therefore, I better get back onto women's retreat details because disaster conference and reviews and a full in-basket are also calling. Blessings ya'll! | | |
